Community Planning
The community planning section provides technical expertise in land use planning, zoning, site development, landscape design, transportation, recreation, economic development, and other issues.  Approximately half of the communities in the county have contracts with MCPC for community planning assistance.  Our community planning staff routinely meets with municipal officials and assist them in efforts to better plan their communities.  Community Planning Assistance Contracts are subsidized in part by the county and typically last for three years.  A major focus of this section is regional planning.  We currently work with four regional planning commissions comprised of 27 municipalities.  Click here for major community planning projects.
