The project area is a three-quarter-mile segment of PA 611 Old York Road through Jenkintown Borough, from Wyncote Road to Madera Avenue. Signal upgrades are planned for eight intersections:
· PA 611 & Wyncote Road · PA 611 & Washington Lane · PA 611 & Greenwood Avenue · PA 611 & West Avenue · PA 611 & Pedestrian Crossing Signal · PA 611 & Rydal Road/Cloverly Avenue · PA 611 & Madeira Avenue · Washington Lane & Greenwood Avenue
Each upgraded signal will include LED signal heads, emergency vehicle preemption, battery backup, and radio interconnection equipment. The project will connect Jenkintown Borough to the close-loop signal system now on either side of Jenkintown Borough in Cheltenham and Abington Townships.
